President’s Welcome Letter for 2014

  “Welcome” and “Welcome back”

Dear students, parents, teachers, volunteers and colleagues:

We hope you had a wonderful and fantastic summer. On behalf of Shishu Bharati, it is my great honor, joy and privilege to “Welcome” you all to Shishu Bharati for another exciting year of learning, rejoicing, and cherishing the proud Indian Culture and Languages.

Special welcome to all new students and families to “The Shishu Bharati Community” and make this journey a proud and memorable one for each of you.  While our children have the opportunity to learn and be confident of our Indian heritage and languages, the parents have the opportunity to relearn and relive our proud heritage along with the young ones. I can assure you the feeling would be very elating and heartwarming.

With great zeal, pride, and affection for our Indian heritage and languages, Shishu Bharati was planted 36-years ago with five students. Today, Shishu Bharati boasts with about 900 students, 300-teachers/volunteers, bustling at three corners of New England. Three-locations but one school with one passion and one goal to Preserve, Promote and Propagate (three – “PPP”s) Indian heritage and languages to the generations to come. We are very thankful and truly grateful for your enthusiasm and wisdom in joining us in making this institution stand tall and shine with our proud “Heritage”. We had about 46 students graduated last year, and this year we have about 70, very excited students who can’t wait to graduate, and this would be the biggest graduating class ever!

Shshu Bharati is surely indebted to the strength, wisdom, hard work and sincere dedication of thousands of past and present parents/volunteers, in educating and instilling Indian Culture and Languages to thousands of students. Many of you may come with a sense of uncertainty but undoubtedly leave/graduate with great confidence, pride, and understanding of Indian Culture and Languages and it will be truly a fulfilling reward for taking that first step, joining Shishu Bharati.

As you might imagine, beginning few weeks can be little overwhelming, but we have seen kids smoothly transitioning into enjoyable learning routine. Shishu Bharati’s experienced teachers, staff and administrators (all volunteer to service the community) will be there all the time to help, assist and ensure what all it takes to safeguard and teach our young ones. However, we absolutely need all of your support, help and co-operation to achieve this smoothly.
Shishu Bharati is supported and run by parents/volunteers. We urge each one of you to extend your help and be part of this wonderful community. We need your active and compassionate participation to make Shishu Bharati even greater learning experience and institution. We always need more teachers/ volunteers, so be there, be pro-active, and get involved; it is your school, your community. Please be a significant part and do your share to this volunteer organization.

All three locations are opening on Sunday (Sept 7th). I once again welcome you all to a homely journey; relive and rejoice, be part, and be proud. I wish you all a wonderful learning experience and great time at Shishu Bharati.

With warmest regards,
Seshi R. Sompuram
